Ewan Macintyre
Album launch for Ewan Macintyre Herding Cats - On These Islands We Sing
Ewan delivers an eclectic show of transatlantic soul folk with band Herding cats, with new songs in both English and Scots Gaelic. A second generation puppeteer, Ewan has five solo albums to date and broke in his music with award winning Bluegrass band The Southern Tenant Folk Union, and psychedelic funk outfit Ruby & the Emeralds as well as various compositions for theatre soundtracks and tours across Canada and Europe. Ewan's voice has been likened to Marc Bolan, Van Morrison, John Martyn and Robert Plant and the all star band Herding Cats features: Bado Réti on Double Bass, Tam Wiltshire on Drums/ Percussion, Dirk Ronnenburg on Fiddle, with Ewan Macintyre on lead vox, Guitars and Banjo and guest singers Sally Jaquet, Lucie Yavruturk and Caro Bridges.
The album On These Islands We Sing was created and recorded over a summer on the Isle of Skye and the band initially formed 4 years ago as part of a Cabaret of Misfits at the Findhorn Bay Arts Festival.
