With influences from Belle and Sebastian to Mac DeMarco, Edinburgh’s Jack Caldwell combines twangy indie-folk with witty, confessional lyrics. His new single “Waiting Song”, accompanied by an alien abduction themed music video filmed on Arthur’s Seat and Salisbury Crags, is the wistful closing track to his upcoming EP ‘Plus Four’. The project was recorded in Caldwell’s bedroom this past winter as an epilogue to his 2024 album ‘Four Four’ and features fingerpicked folk textures with lyrics covering themes of uncertainty, loss, and acceptance. Following a recent tour of the UK playing bass for Irish singer-songwriter Étáin, the 'Central Belt Tour' celebrates the EP's release and marks Caldwell's first headline shows in almost 2 years.
