Born in Canada under the sign of Taurus, and raised by two singer-songwriters in post-conflict Northern Ireland, medb cut her teeth on tumblr bedroom pop to emerge as the multi-faceted creative powerhouse we all know and love. With a personality that is part Edie Sedgwick, part Virgin Mary, part Kylie Jenner, and a distinctive sound that has been likened to , , and , you’ll know you’re listening to medb when an indescribable pang of nostalgia takes over your soul and renders your thoughts to dreams. After a stint in and out of bands in Edinburgh and finding her feet gigging around the dizzying London DIY scene, medb has spent the past year writing and recording her achingly personal explosive third album, with the help of some seasoned friends and starlets. My name is medb and I am an artist and musician from Ireland, studying at Central Saint Martins, and working on my sophomore album. My music is currently inspired by urban myths and storytelling, old folk music and mysticism, female sadness, beauty queens, butterflies and black cats. My sonic influences include - but are not limited to - Lana Del Rey, Brian Jonestown Massacre, Nancy Sinatra, Fiona Apple, and PJ Harvey. I have been writing and performing music since I was 16 and I am very excited to share my sound with London.
