THE NONE is a new band of lifelong musicians. Comprising bassist Gordon Moakes (Bloc Party, Young Legionnaire), vocalist Kaila Whyte (Blue Ruth, Youth Man), guitarist Jim Beck (Cassels) and drummer Chris Francombe (Frauds), they make an uncompromising vision of noise rock with melody at its heart.
The band formed at the start of 2023 and bonded over hours in the rehearsal room – making noise, discussing shared obsessions, and, most importantly, playing together.
The anonymity of their name reflects a creative approach which favours egoless experimentation and open collaboration. This ethos, the combined decades of music making, and the unique musical identities of all four members can be clearly heard in the art they create.
Following their debut tour in February 2024, they have since played shows supporting Les Savy Fav and Mannequin Pussy. They have tour dates coming up with METZ as well as a string of festival appearances including Supersonic, End of The Road, and Sw?n Festival.
The band released their debut EP, MATTERin August 2024, exclusively on Bandcamp. Fans of Shellac, The Jesus Lizard, Silverfish and Unwound will likely find plenty to enjoy.

Civil Elegies are a local super group of sorts featuring members from: The Ninth Wave, Moni jitchell, Friends In America, Thin Privilege, Gendo Ikari, Outblinker, In Wrecks, Hunt/Gather, IDEAL and more.
Percussive guitars paired with syncopated drums through walls of sound and distortion portray a sonic canvas pulling from influences such as Swans, Radiohead and Lungfish.
Formed in 2014, they released 3 records between then and 2016 with each record growing in experimentation and intensity per release, as did their live shows including walls of amps, electronics and visuals.
If catharsis were a genre then Civil Elegies would define it.
