Jeremy Tuplin is a singer-songwriter from Somerset, now living in London. His debut album, ‘I Dreamt I Was Astronaut’ came out on Folkwit Records in September 2017. His lyricism and vocal nuances have been compared to the likes of Leonard Cohen, Scott Walker or Jake Thackray, to, musically, being described as being ‘the missing link between Nick Drake and ‘Space-Oddity’-era Bowie’. His sophomore album 'Pink Mirror' is out now on Trapped Animal Records (released 5th April 2019). Although still playing the occasional stripped-back solo show, these days he mostly fronts his own band called The Ultimate Power Assembly.

Line Up

London based singer/songwriter Jeremy Tuplin is from Somerset. He has released two EPs (Carry The Fire 2014, Open Letters 2015). His debut album, ‘I DREAMT I WAS AN ASTRONAUT’ released on Folkwit Records in September 2017 to early critical acclaim. He is well-known in the crowded singer/songwriter scene around London; for his intricate lyricism, perceptive observations, sly humour and highly refined delivery.

Tuplin is in demand both solo and with his band at London music venues and further afield as well as music festivals (most recent Boomtown 2017) throughout the UK. Tuplin’s band comprises Mark Estall (bass), Maris Peterlevics (violin), Jason Ribeiro (drums), Matt Fleming (keyboards/synths).They feature on Tuplin’s recorded works and perform in their own right. Tuplin is touring the Astronaut album in Spain and England through January 2018.

The Astronaut album was produced with long-time collaborator Mark Estall, in his Marketstall Studio in South Bermondsey. Jeremy’s music has often been featured on BBC Radio 6 and other digital radio stations. Musically and thematically the songs on his new album take a novel, unusual direction, combining electronic and synthesised sounds with more acoustic and organic instruments for a ‘retro-futuristic feel’ to branch into a genre which reviewers have coined as ‘space-folk’. Jeremy has drawn many comparisons, including Leonard Cohen, Bill Callahan and even Jake Thackray. He is described by Folk Radio UK as ‘the missing link between Nick Drake and ‘Space-Oddity’-era Bowie’.
