Fast rising star on the U.K. Folk/Americana scene Emily Mae Winters has that rare quality in a singer that makes critics reach for the superlatives. Described as having a voice that “stops you in your tracks” and “arresting, enthralling, tantalising” by Folk Radio UK, Emily combines straight-to-the-heart bittersweetness with her own unique passion and drama in performance. Emily Mae Winters’ exquisite songs which sit between the stormy seas of folk and country are influenced by artists including Alison Krauss, Emmylou Harris, Gillian Welch and Sarah Jarosz. Emily’s self-penned debut album Siren Serenade was produced by BBC Folk Award Winning producer Ben Walker. Described as “Vibrant and experimental” by Songlines magazine, one of the record’s standout tracks ‘Anchor’ won her the Guardian Songwriting Competition.

Siren Serenade was released to critical acclaim, picking up plays on U.K. radio including the BBC Radio 2 Folk Show, BBC Good Morning Sunday as well as international folk and Americana radio in the U.S. Winters received a scholarship to showcase at Folk Alliance International in the U.S. The album was then selected in the International Americana Music Show’s top ten albums and featured in American Song writing Magazine’s reviews of the month as well as being shortlisted for the Fatea Debut Album of the Year and winning the Best Debut Album of the Year in the Laurel Canyon Music Awards. Her first headline tour of the year led to invites to play to her largest audiences yet including Cambridge Folk Festival and Moseley Folk Festival among others. Winters embarked on her third headline tour this year with a band, playing some sell out shows.

“Winters is currently working on new material for the release of her second album 'High Romance' which is being produced by award winning Americana producer Matt Ingram at Urchin Studios (Lewis and Leigh, Florence and the Machine, Laura Marling).

Hannah Rose Platt is an enchanting singer-songwriter and talented guitarist who specializes in Americana / folk music, with storytelling at its heart. She recorded her debut album Portraits in Nashville last year (produced by Michael Bonagura- Baillie & the Boys) where she worked with some of the industry's leading names, Grammy award-winning musicians Mark Fain, (Ricky Skaggs, Dolly Parton) Stuart Duncan (Emmylou Harris, Dolly Parton, The Nashville Bluegrass Band, Robert Plant & Alison Krauss) and Jeff Taylor (The Time Jumpers, Elvis Costello). Her melodic, poetic and accessible music offers self-written narratives to ordinary people who had no one to unfurl their stories; tales of luck, stoicism, loneliness, love, heartbreak and hope. While avoiding clichés, she warmly builds characters like an author, penning songs that almost eavesdrop on other people's lives. 1954 is told through the eyes of an elderly woman suffering from dementia who waits every night for her husband to pick her up as she recalls their first date, while Birthday Card is a tender letter from a mother written to her daughter from prison. Lyrics are the mainstay of her work, while subtle acoustic arrangements and beautiful guitar hooks form an uplifting backdrop. Hannah’s stories get under your skin…she plays with sentiment without being saccharine, focusing on optimism infused with realism and honesty. Born and raised in Liverpool, Hannah began playing the guitar when she was five, teaching herself how to play. Her musical education came from her stepfather who would encourage her to listen to a wide variety of music, scouring his extensive record collection for inspiration for her. Having played gigs around the country and in the USA, she released Portraits independently in March this year. The album has already received widespread critical acclaim and many of the tracks have received considerable airplay on BBC Radio Merseyside, Resonance FM, Wrecking Ball Radio and Europe's leading country radio station CMR Nashville. Hannah’s track ‘1954’ has also been featured in Channel 4’s Hollyoaks several times this year. Portraits was also included in Glamour Magazine’s ‘Summer soundtrack 2015. She was also featured on the back cover of Maverick Magazine and on their compilation CD, and played at Summertyne Americana Festival 2015, alongside artists such as Rosanne Cash, Emmylou Harris, Ward Thomas and the McCrary Sisters. Hannah is now based in London and is now gigging with a fantastic five-piece band, Kate Robinson on fiddle (Sam Smith, Elbow, Bjork) Ryan Trebilcock on double bass, Nicholas Smalley on Drums and Ryan Williams on electric guitar/mandolin.

Luki is the solo project of Lucy Duncan, a vocalist and pianist based in Glasgow. Born and raised in London on music theatre and pantomime, her interest in Early Music and folk informs the narrative lyricism across her songs, whilst her early theatrical influences are present though the use of multiple voices, fragile at times, sardonic at others.

“Duncan's witchy soprano, elegant piano and synth create a sense of time and place out of joint, as if Delia Derbyshire and Brian Eno had set up shop in an Edwardian parlour.” (Stewart Smith, The List)

In December 2018, she released her debut album, ‘Wisps’ on the Glasgow label GLARC. The collection of eight songs sees her exploring the far reaches of her voice in English ballads like 'Sweet Suffolk Owl' and 'The Lover's Ghost' to the Music Theatre of Kurt Weill and Langston Hughes in ‘Lonely House’. Her own composition from the album - ‘Plum Wine’, was recently featured on Nick Luscombe’s BBC Radio 3 Late Junction show ‘Ones to watch from BBC Music Introducing’.
