CHILDCARE's now oft recanted formation story remains a point of interest. It all started when Ed Cares, one of West London’s most in-demand male nannies, was overheard humming a song he had written, by Katie, aged six, who persuaded him to form a band. Josh, eight, boldly proclaimed: “You’re probably my second favourite artist after Katy Perry.”

Their debut EP, Made Simple, released last year, earned them all sorts of tastemaker acclaim and national radio play with prestigious UK tastemakers DIY, The Line of Best Fit, Wonderland and The 405 all tipping the group as one’s to watch.

With a sling of festivals including the legendary Reading and Leeds and a recent Radio 1 Maida Vale session tucked safely under their belts, the band’s vivid and visceral live show has gone from strength to strength.

By adding yet another stellar release to their oeuvre in Luckyucker , CHILDCARE look set to cement themselves as one of London’s most exciting emerging acts.

The quartet is completed by Emma Topolski (Bass, Vocals), Rich Legate (Guitar, Backing Vocals) and Glyn Daniels (Drums, Backing Vocals).

Enthused with the energy of punk and drenched in off-kilter pop sensibilities.

CHILDCARE played some of their first shows at the Reading and Leeds festival in August 2015 and soon released their debut single 'Omega Grey'. The song gained radio play on Radio 1 (Annie Mac, Huw Stephens) and 6 Music (Steve Lamacq, Tom Robinson), it was named Track of the Day at Radio X, playlisted at Amazing Radio and garnered extensive blog coverage from the likes of Clash, Indie Shuffle and more.

At the end of 2016 CHILDCARE supported Bastille on several dates during their UK arena tour. 'Film Club' was then released on Lost In The Manor, gaining several plays from Radio 1 (Annie Mac, Huw Stephens), it was also named as Huw's BBC Introducing track of the week.

The band's third single 'Kiss' will be released in early 2017.
