“I think I thought if I could show someone how much I loved them that they might come back…” Confesses lead singer Jacob Scott of the band Pale | Seas about the band’s debut album Stargazing for Beginners “…for a long, long time, I truly believed that these songs could do that.”

Stargazing for Beginners serves as an emotional artefact: 10 nerve-splintering studies in fear, isolation and heartbreak set in a vast multi-layered sonic landscape. The album’s many breakthrough moments were captured during night sessions in a medieval abbey on the Isle of Wight, with the band in almost total isolation - refusing to leave until the record was completed.

Nihilism and jaded optimism converge as Ewan Grant (guitar, vocals) and Owen Wicksted (drums, bass, synths) met resulting in angst driven, melodic hook-heavy pop songs with garage sensibilities.

The post-punk duo reside in Glasgow, Scotland and since their inception in 2015 have released their debut 7” through Damnably and their debut 12" through Displaced Records. Both releases feature singles recorded by Steve Albini at Electrical Audio in Chicago as well as tracks recorded by Glasgow based producer Chris Marshall.

The band have already toured Europe, UK and the east coast of the US with bands such as YUNG, METZ and Honeyblood. Other notable performances include SXSW, CMJ, CMW, London Calling, Radio One’s Big Weekend and T In The Park. Picking up support along the way from worldwide press including Consequence of Sound, The Guardian, The Skinny, Fred Perry and Brooklyn Vegan.

WOMPS make an exciting return to SXSW 2017 and further UK headline dates to promote their debut record 'Our Fertile Forever'. They will also be showcasing a more focussed post-punk aesthetic on new tracks.
