After 2 successful Scottish shows with Dave McPherson (InMe) last September, singer/songwriter Marc Halls returns for a headline show at The Hug And Pint. Best known for previous outfits Fei Comodo and Hey Vanity, Marc released his first solo E.P 'A Simple Man' in his spare time. Following that, he released 'Born Into Light' in 2014, 'Bittersweet Memories' in 2015 and 'Enough About Me' last year. Taking inspiration from rock heroes in bands like Thrice, Reuben & Coheed & Cambria as well as a helping of country, folk and blues influences from the likes of, City & Colour, Bon Iver & Damien Rice, results in a heart-on-sleeve offering of tracks that have more in common with Frank Turner or Nathaniel Rateliff than with Halls' previous bands.

Line Up

Singer/songwriter Marc Halls is best known for previous outfits Fei Comodo and Hey Vanity. With a surplus of material that didn't quite fit in with his other projects, he is now set to release and tour his 4th solo E.P 'Enough About Me'

A few years back Marc released his first solo E.P 'A Simple Man' in his spare time. Following that, he released 'Born Into Light' in 2014 and 'Bittersweet Memories' last year, leading to supports with State Radio's Chadwick Stokes & Inme's Dave McPherson, as well as playing the acoustic stages at festivals like Field Day, Slam Dunk and Hevy Fest.

Halls takes inspiration from rock heroes in bands like Thrice, Reuben & Coheed & Cambria as well as a helping of country, folk and blues influences from the likes of, City & Colour, Bon Iver & Damien Rice. The result is a heart-on-sleeve offering of tracks that have more in common with Frank Turner or Nathaniel Rateliff than with Halls' previous bands.

With Fei Comodo & Hey Vanity, Halls has toured throughout the UK & Europe playing festivals including Download, Sonisphere and Slam Dunk whilst sharing stages on tours with the likes of Don Broco, Mallory Knox, Fightstar, Bury Tomorrow, Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, The Swellers and more.

The Gracious Attempt are an indie/folk two-piece band from Glasgow. Since forming in June 2015 they have played in many venues across Scotland including two nights at the famous King Tut’s Wah Wah Hut in Glasgow.

The inspirations for their music come from mainly Scottish artists like Rachel Sermanni, Kathryn Joseph and Emma Pollock as well as other acts such as The Twilight Sad, King Creosote and Belle & Sebastian. They have been described as a “dark side to love songs” and likened to acts such as The Delgados.

The band consists of Gemma Matthews and Ciaran Boyle who offer a stripped back harmonic sound made up of only guitar, keyboard and vocals.

July 2016 saw the release of the band's self-recorded and self-produced EP ‘The Bridge’ which can be purchased, at a price of your choosing, from the link above.
