We serve Asian-inspired vegan food, all freshly prepared in our wee kitchen.
Our kitchen is open from noon until 10pm, 7 days a week.
We run with a menu of around 5 dishes per day to keep everything fresh. When one dish runs out, it is replaced with something else. So over the course of a week, the entire menu will change.
We also do takeaway, so pop in any time or phone us on 0141 331 1901 to see what we’re cooking that day!
Here’s some nice things people have said about eating here:
“A must visit. 8/10”
“Everything we ate sparkled with flavour.”
“[E]very dish we have eaten has been prepared to an extremely high standard.” – Ron MacKenna The Herald 9th January 2016
“If the staff are any indicator of its wholesomeness, I’d say they are doing well; The Hug and Pint is staffed by shiny happy folk with friendly beards, cheerful hair and unthreatening specs. They are all tall, lithe, young and look very healthy – a good sign. And perhaps it is only carnivorous waiters who sometimes can give off an air of exasperation with early diners who have kids in tow; here there was nothing but charm and enthusiasm for the food. They really wanted us to order something we would enjoy.” – Kirsty McLuckie The Scotsman 27th October 2015
“Anyone who thinks that vegan dishes are ersatz versions of their meaty cousins need only try the black aubergine at The Hug and Pint in Glasgow. Silken strands of the fruit glisten in a chilli bean oil, soy, vinegar and black pepper sauce – hefty and complex.” i (from The Independent) 12th October 2015
